Head of Treasury & Credit – Cape Town

Job Description

Our client is looking for a Head of Treasury & Credit to join their team.  You will be responsible for the sourcing, arranging and executing of short-term and long-term credit facilities for local and US dollar borrowing, ensure all policies and global requirements are complied with as well as Local Federal Insurance Contributions Act requirements.

Business Administration/Management, or other tertiary qualification preferably including financial accounting.

Prior experience (5- 10 years) within a senior finance management role is highly preferred

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Electronic Mail and Calendar, and Projects)

Knowledge of SAP S4 Hana

Ability to work under pressure, working to tight deadlines and independently manage a number of conflicting priorities, as well as be able to switch priorities at short notice (essential)

Understanding of mechanics relating to trade financing and credit security instruments (essential)

Strong communication skills and ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders on varying levels of seniority including executive level (critical)

Fully conversant with IFRS standards and other regulatory standards relating to Credits and Treasury functions (preferred)

Demonstrate a firm grasp of the key commercial considerations, as well as an ability to weigh up customer value propositions and make recommendations as appropriate (essential)

Excellent analytic ability to understand and anticipate credit risks (essential)
