GL Accountant (Contract) – Cape Town

Job Description

Our client in the retail industry is looking for an Accountant on a contractual basis to look after and manage the day to day activities around the general ledger for the Group operations in Africa, outside South Africa.  Responsibilities include:  import and post, reversals process journals, prepare month GP recons, monthly exports vs GL stock movement, and profit and loss etc.

• BCom
• Credit clear
• Min. 2 – 3 years working experience preferably in a similar GL position
• Experience with Oracle General Ledger modules or similar packages
• Strong Excel knowledge
• Understanding of accounting for transactions in foreign currencies is essential
